Cartesia is a voice AI company founded by Stanford AI Lab researchers who worked on state space models (SSMs) and Mamba. It trains its own speech models, Sonic for text-to-speech and Ink for streaming speech-to-text, and sells them through an API alongside a managed voice-agent platform, with cloud, on-premise and on-device deployment.
