How we curate

Two layers,
one map

Every tool on the map is curated, across 31 categories. Everything a maker submits starts in the community layer. This page is how a product moves up, and what we will never sell.

CuratedOn the map

Curated

  • Established tools you can verify: real company, real logo, real product.
  • Placed on the map by an editor.
  • Shown on felt sheets on every category page.
Community1 tools

Community

  • New apps, AI wrappers, pre-seed and seed products with no audience yet.
  • Live after a person reviews the submission, usually within 2 working days.
  • Shown on the same category sheets, after the curated tools, with a dashed edge and a “Community” label. Added to the map, the sticker turns solid.

Four stops to curated

A community product is added to the map when it passes all four, in order. The maker sees progress in their Studio.

  1. 1

    Listed 90 days

The product has been in the community layer for at least 90 days, with no open reports.

  2. 2

    300 users

At least 300 people use it. Accounts that look automated are not counted.

  3. 3

    Verified

A valid Verified badge: we checked who makes it and that it works.

  4. 4

    Editor review

An editor reads the listing, tries the product and picks its stop on the map.

  5. Curated

Moves onto the felt sheet of its category.

What we verify

Verified

The Verified badge means we checked who makes a product. It is stop 3 on the way to curated. We check again every 90 days.

  • 1Maker identity

A real person or company, checked against an ID or a company record.

  • 2Team

Who builds it and how many. Named people, not just a logo.

  • 3Data policy

What happens to your data, in plain words. Training on it or not.

  • 4Working product

We sign up and use it. Store links, website and login all work.

  • 5Pricing clarity

What is free, what costs money, and how to cancel.

How “I use this” is counted

Signed-in people mark a product with one of three states. One mark per person, and they can change it any time.

Live counts for ChatGPT.

  • I use this counts toward rankings and toward stop 2.
  • Tried it, dropped it is shown, never hidden. It lowers nothing on its own.
  • Want to try is a signal for makers, not for rankings.
  • Ratings, 1 to 5 stars, come only from people who marked I use this or Tried it.

Appeal a decision

Rejected, or not added to the map when you think you should be? Tell us why. A different editor reads every appeal and answers within 5 working days.
