What it does

The AI Scientist is an open-source system from Sakana AI that automates machine-learning research end to end: it proposes ideas, writes and runs experiments, analyses results and drafts a paper. Version 2 uses agentic tree search and produced a paper accepted at a workshop. Code is on GitHub under a responsible-AI licence that requires disclosing AI use.
