What it does

Cline is an open-source coding agent (Apache-2.0) that reads and edits code, runs commands and uses a browser, asking for approval at each step unless auto-approve is on. Plan mode agrees a strategy before Act mode carries it out. It runs as a VS Code, JetBrains and Cursor extension, a CLI, a desktop app and an SDK, with Claude, GPT, Gemini, local models or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
