What it does

Transformers is Hugging Face's open-source Python library (Apache-2.0) that defines and runs pretrained models for text, vision, audio, video and multimodal tasks on PyTorch. It provides pipelines for quick inference, a Trainer for fine-tuning and text generation utilities, and its model definitions are reused by training tools and inference engines such as vLLM, SGLang and llama.cpp.
