What it does

OpenRouter is a hosted API that puts language models from many providers behind one OpenAI-compatible endpoint, with a single key and one bill. It routes each request across providers and falls back automatically during outages or rate limits, and also serves image, video and speech models through their own endpoints. A web chat playground lets people compare models side by side.
