What it does

rec is Recursive's open-source inference engine for running its Flint coding model on Apple Silicon Macs. It downloads the model, serves a local API and connects coding harnesses such as Pi and OpenCode, and Recursive reports 1.4 to 2.6 times the throughput of llama.cpp on an M4 Pro. It needs an M4 Pro, M4 Max, M5 Pro or M5 Max with at least 48 GB of memory.
