What it does

Amp is a coding agent originally built at Sourcegraph and since late 2025 run by its own company, Amp Inc. It works from a terminal CLI, a desktop app and the web, and can run threads on remote machines called orbs that keep working after you close your laptop, with subagents, shared sessions, MCP support and triggers from events such as new issues or failing CI.
