What it does

dbt is a data transformation framework that lets analysts and engineers build warehouse tables and views from SQL select statements, with version control, testing, documentation and lineage. Version 2.0 is a rewrite in Rust distributed as a single binary under Apache-2.0, and the commercial dbt platform adds a hosted environment and IDE extensions. Fivetran and dbt Labs are now one company.
